Just got through banning another 15 or so spam accounts. Seriously, why pick the one forum that's the most inactive to make a billion spam accounts? They're not even posting anymore, they're just registering accounts and then silently placing spam links in their signatures... Which everybody should be advised not to click, by the way. Proboards... you need to update your captcha system or something, I think. Add more freaking deterrents here!

Random July 22nd update (My birthday, by the way!): Lots of new spam accounts here. But, I figured out there's a way to mass ban accounts, innat nice? Also threw in a couple of IP bans, just in case it might stop some of them from coming back. Not too likely I don't think, but it's nice to dream.
Maybe I should delete this forum altogether. It's strange the amount of dedication I put into occasionally checking for spam when literally nothing else goes on here. I guess it's just fun being able to swing a ban hammer around? Oh, well.
By the way, they've also stopped putting things in their signatures. They're just... registering accounts for no reason now. No spam links at all, no posts. Sadly, they are still breaking the "no spam bot" rule. Lots of accounts registered at the same time? Check. Always the same kinds of usernames? Check. Using lots of numbers in the usernames (AND email addresses, which also tend to be very strange and suspicious-spammy-looking email addresses)? Check (and check). There's enough evidence here to convict a spam bot in a government court, and we all know how suspicious they always are.
