That's what this place has turned into. It was never much to begin with, but whatever. It's fun to be sassy at spam posts. I like to leave the spam around as an example to any future spam bots... The front page is kinda getting filled with spam topics, though. Doesn't make the forum looks very well-maintained. Whereas it actually kind of is. Well, I digress. I don't think many people come here, anyway. Despite the large amount of views some of the topics here have. I think those are just from web crawlers and prospective spammers, though. There's no way we would get that many views and have nobody actually register and make a legit post.
But back to the spam-bots. I like to think it's all just the same person trying a bunch of different techniques and registering a bunch of different accounts trying to get me to allow them to stay. But this person is REALLY bad at writing spam posts, and it's really obvious. And every time I ban them and tell them why, they are learning and slowly perfecting their strategy. The end goal is to circumvent the rules of not spamming and not being a spam bot by being NOT banned while being a spam bot. Like one of those little kids who goes onto Yahoo Answers and asks, "OMG, how 2 cheet without B-ing caght???" in reference to the biggest MMORPG ever created that has, like, 100-step anti-cheating scripts. The spam bots do the same thing, only in somewhat more fractured English, and they change the question somewhat to, "How do one be on a forum with rule of not being spam bot, while still, being spam bot [/ url] space punctuation ?". Something like that.
Well, I'm done making fun of spammers now. As long as I'm here, I might as well mention that I've basically abandoned this place. But I come back every now and then to see if there's a new spam bot to target. So my offer stands: if anyone would like to try and take over the forum, just send me a PM. I will probably get an email notification about it, and I'll think to come and check it within maybe two weeks. Alternatively, you could register and actually post things about Stagecast and continue to be active for more than two days. That would draw me back into running the place.
EDIT: Well, I just said all that, but I just did a bunch of admin-type work. ^_^;
1. I moved all of the spam topics into the Spam and Forum Games category... because that's where they belong. From now on, I'll be moving all spam topics there. Helps keep the front page clean!
2. Speaking of clean, I found it quite annoying that a huge lists of announcements I've made over the years was at the top of every forum. So I changed them all so that announcements don't show up in other boards anymore. Yay! On that note, seems like it's supposed to be up to me to manually remove announcement status from each topic individually. So I guess I can still use that feature. I just didn't realize it existed before.
So yeah, the forum is now prettier and more well-maintained. Still doesn't have as much to do with Stagecast. But, oh well!
